No. 1, Log Rollway and Sawmill Red Cliff Lumber Company, Duluth, Minnesota

Red Cliff lumber company sawmill was located at 512 39th Avenue West from 1902-1913. A rollway is an artificially inclined surface used by lumberjacks to slide logs into a waterway for transport.

  1. Was there ever any deaths here. My great grandfather worked here around 1905-1910. I found him in Duluth city directory but then he just disappeared. No paper trail has been left and this picture is so cool I can imagine working in this field and wondering what he did here.
